As a postpartum doula I am a trained professional who offers the following services to a new mother, and her family:
- Physical support
- Emotional Support
- Breastfeeding and bottle feeding support and tips
- Baby care instruction
- Some household assistance (light cleaning, baby laundry, baby dishes, etc.)
- Occasional meal preparation assistance
My job as a postpartum doula is to help ease the transition to parenthood through education and support that will leave a family empowered and prepared to care for their newborn. I do not care for your newborn as a baby nurse would, rather I can offer guidance and education and especially support to the new mom as she is recovering from delivery. Like birth doulas, postpartum doulas do NOT offer any medical advice or perform any medical or clinical procedures, but instead can offer parents referrals to appropriate studies and published books. Ideally, as your postpartum doula we will meet to discuss your needs and wishes before your birth.
Fees: Postpartum doulas work with clients on an hourly basis, scheduled to meet the family’s needs. As a postpartum doula in training I am currently offering my services on a sliding scale. Please contact me for information regarding the cost of my services or if you would like to schedule a free informational meeting..
Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, or about my availability; if I am not available I would be more than happy to help you find a doula who is a great match!
